SYMBOLIC CHARACTERS

Some characters have reappeared so often in different types of literature that their names and meanings have been distinguished.

Alazon A faker who is arrogant and self – important. Examples are the boastful soldier and the fanatical philosopher – mad scientist
Eiron One who denounces and belittles himself. Most categories of hero belong to this type of character such as Frodo, Ulysses and Huck Finn. “Irony” is derived from the mythological character “Eiron.”
Beautiful Maiden Represents honor and salvation or of subdued sexuality
Devious Slave The hero’s assistant or partner
Clever old man Hero’s assistant who holds great knowledge
Churl A blunt person; Someone who spoils the pleasure of others or an awkward, unsophisticated person;
Good titans Hero’s assistants who are accustomed to nature
Hero’s duplicate It reveals the dark aspect of the hero’s personality
Dark Woman Represents eroticism and inducement
Clown Produces a cheerful atmosphere that alleviates anxieties

It has been discovered that using these images have caused conflicts on how readers comprehend them. Most of the time, they see these images as a support of repressive values possessed by the erstwhile societies.

This is why several modern writers are now using them to rebuke the values formerly expressed by these images instead of promoting them. It is important that freelance writers are careful of the imagery that freelance writers use in their novel, whether it is for the characters or settings. Freelance novelists wouldn’t want to convey the wrong message to their readers. Designating blonde virgins as heroines and seductive brunettes as baddies could be give readers the wrong ideas.

Professional novel ghostwriters should know of their power to manipulate and develop your own symbolic techniques. The objects you can use as symbols are infinite. It is also up to you if you wish to explain to the readers the symbols that you have used or if you want to let them remain as part of your traditional beliefs and notions. A fiction ghostwriter can either make the association of the symbols and their meanings apparent, or keep the readers guessing.

Symbolism is best when it comes to you unconsciously. However sometimes fiction ghostwriters and freelancers may get ideas of certain images, objects or events for their client's novel that are so dynamic, then they can write them down in a letter for yourself. It will help if fiction ghostwriters reflect on these ideas to be effective in achieving a symbolic level appropriate for your novel.
